This fix is an official patch released by the FrostWire Development Team.
Just unzip, execute, and restart FrostWire, your connecting issues should be gone.
(We Thank 'Only a Hobo' and 'FTA' for creating this patch for all the community)

alex5, are you using Comcast? are you connecting from your office? did you check if you have a firewall?

I have Vista and followed all these instructions and it still says starting connection, but will not start. Whta else could I try?

I have vista, am connected using fiber optic connection, using panda security software. I use the patch and it works the first time. but change users and it won't work again. Even if I go back to the first user

I use Vista and it does not work for me. I do not have any firewalls enabled or anything that would stop it from working. It still says "Starting Connection," but the connection never starts.

So far so good. The patch for vista worked as expected. I have yet to shut my system down, so I will not know if there are any problems upon restart as of yet. I will update ya'll asap.

i think this kind of software might work several times after installing but after that it doesnt work anymore means that i can't download anything...the conection appear to starting connection but didnt connect to it!!!!

When I download it, I try to extract or open it and it says that the file is 'corrupt or invalid'.
I've downloaded it multiple times.. And it always says the same thing. :/

alright i added frostwire and like it diddnt work and i downloaded the patch and it still says starting connection i have vista so that may be the problem but my frostwire hasent worked in like forever so help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this might sound silly to most of you, but I use frostwire on linux, and it is frustrating having to see a pop-up about problems with windows and frostwire. I would like it to stop. Problems such as this are why I stopped using windows.

TO LINUX USERS:
You can download a new version of FrostWire at www.frostwire.com
It's version 4.13.5
This way you won't see this message more than once. It won't show again so you're not annoyed.
FOR WINDOWS AND MAC USERS:
Same thing, download FrostWire 4.13.5 to fix connection problems.

I have plenty problem with both Limewire and Frostwire. They will no longer connect . I have downloaded the fix,but no luck. I use XP. I can connect other sites like this and get music but not frostwire. I hope that one day in the future it will be fixed. It used to work great.
Is this the end of Frostwire and Limewire. RIP

i got the message that said something like "its the responsibility of the user to ensure this program is virus-free bla bla and to make sure he doesnt lose anything" and then it says "are you agree?" hmm.. suspicious.. is it safe to run the application?

Tried with the patch with with 4.13.4 but no luck at all. Got 4.13.5 and it worked no probs without patch first try.
The app is safe but connecting to the web is always dodgy, whether browsing, email or P2P. So make sure you're protected with AV and Firewall (Comodo Pro is excellent firewall and free). And you still might get infected.

i have xp, i uninstalled all java programs, uninstalled frostwire, installed java jre 5-0, and installed frostwire 4.13.5. everything is ok now. hope this helps ragards kris.

I have never had any problems downloading anything and downloaded the patch and it still works. It sounds like there is some type of system proxy problem for most of you.
